📚 My Favourite Reads of the Month

The psychic industrial complex

🔗 / Taylor Forman Substack /

“Most people (98% according to this one survey from 1991) will tell you the paranormal is horseshit. If no one believes in it, why the hell is this profession booming (at least 2.2 billion) despite entering the age of information?”

The most ridiculous question of all-time

🔗 / Arman’s Substack /

“Want to hear the most ridiculous question of all-time Before I tell you, it’s my duty to warn you that you’ve probably heard it so many times that it seems perfectly normal. But it’s not.”

Mental puke from Twitter indigestion

🔗 / Alex’s Adamov’s Substack /

I realized the most healthy attitude to Twitter is to focus on ideas and inspiration. It is putting in place this adage that everyone is parroting: 100 active connections are better than 1,000 silent ones.

✏️ My Favourite Personal Creation of the Month

Mind’s Eye: Games

🔗 / My Substack Post /

Do you know how powerful your mind’s eye is? Well if you like to daydream and you’re in a playful mood, then I’ve got 13 games that’ll test the limits of your visualization skills.

I'm hunting down Cupid's big baby butt. And I know exactly where to find him. You in?

🔗 / My Substack Post /

There are 7 desires we lust after when it comes to love. And I've got a list of places no one ever talks about where we can fulfill each of them.

Panopticon Mind Prisons, Breaking into World Building, & Desire Path Trailblazers

Enter the world of the world builders.

💪🏽 My Favourite Lifestyle Changes of the Month

Cutting Corners

I realized that one of the benefits of tracking all of my small tasks in a week is that I’ve made it easier to think about which tasks are worth the time and energy investment given their return.

For example, I can save a lot of time with my haircuts by not attempting fades. And save a lot of energy with my chores by dialling some back from weekly to every other week.

Organizing the Day

I restructured my daily to dos in terms of:

  • priorities (top 3 most impactful tasks),
  • to dos (all other tasks I want to accomplish),
  • can dos (all tasks I can do if I have any extra time).

Bombastic Branching

I started this new reflection practice, where I visualize the most audacious and impressive potential branches in my future.

I noticed that all of my reflection practices look at my most immediate past, present, and future. But I haven’t been giving myself any space to daydream about the big picture — what the most ideal future branches might look like.

So far, it’s been a really effective source of motivation.

Chewing Food

I want to do an experiment one week where I must chew my foods for a certain number of times before swallowing

Zone of Competency

“Good questions are within your own zone of competency” 🔗 / Danny Miranda Podcast /

Straight A Students

Students who get straight A’s get them not because of good teachers, but in spite of bad ones.

3, 5, 10 Year Goals

There are periods in life that make 3, 5, 10 year goals easier to imagine. Starting school makes it easy to visualize our next few years. Picturing our future after just starting to learn a new hobby is more difficult.

Being Truly Great

If you could be truly great at one thing, what would it be? And how will you know that you have succeeded?
