Desire paths are paths created as a consequence of erosion caused by human or animal foot traffic.
The built world is often designed to keep us walking within it’s lines.
Like rats in a maze, most of us walk within the boundaries.
Some of us, however, are a special kind of rat. A rebellious kind of rat. A mole rat.

For every DIYed dirt rode there was the first mole rat to step onto the grass and blaze the trail of footprints for its fellow rats to follow.
