Backstory

From the moment they met they were in sync. Elimbo ruled over a world where time essentially stood still and Tempus’ primary function was to keep time in motion. Two completely opposing realities and yet, somehow, when they were together they experienced a sense of balance neither of them had felt before. Their synergy eventually developed into an intimate and passionate connection, but commitment was the ultimate barrier to their consummate love.

Dear Tempus,

I trained myself to watch vids at twice the normal speed.  Can I use this to alter my perception of speed in reality?

Although time is an objective quantity, there is an aspect of it that is based in perception.  Is it possible that there are species on this planet that perceive time differently from humans?

• On tokens of time - "The same cup of coffee in a Roman cafe has two different prices depending on whether you are drinking it standing at the bar (about one Euro), or sitting down at a table (about six Euros). It’s perhaps the clearest evidence that coffee is not only a drink, but also a duration of time."
• Researchers from the University of Missouri asked groups of people to solve a problem. Some groups were instructed to solve the problem while standing up, while the other groups were instructed to sit. The results showed that all of the groups solved the problem equally well, however it took the groups that were sitting 34% longer to get to their answer.
